Your Reason: The once great Spanish Empire is in decline, its territories in rebellion, its armies weak and its Navy outdated.
The nation is ruled by a mix of weak, scheming bureaucrats who just want to get as much power as possible and incompetent aristocrats who rule solely through birth rights. To add to this the King of Spain has disappeared and left his nation in turmoil with all the men of importance rushing to seize power and damming the consequences on the nation itself.
How is it that the Kingdom of Spain some 200 years ago was the greatest Empire on the planet and is yet now considered a lesser power than the likes of Prussia and Russia, nations who have none of the great and grand history of Spain. It is because the numerous houses have run the nation into the ground and this must be changed and so I wish to put my brother Joseph on the throne to try and turn Spain into a new world power.
