Italian astronomer, Giuseppe Piazzi, from the Lombard provinces, has discovered a stellar object that moved against the background of stars, perhaps a planet or a comet.
After later research, and submittal to the Royal Society of London, it has been confirmed that Ceres is indeed a comet.
This is the first ever discovery of an asteroid, and is (ooc) the largest ever found.
