A messege was sent to Guan Yunchang, Emperor of China:
Honourable neighbour, As Emperor, I need to think of what is best for my people, and I believe that an alliance with you would be useful. It would also be an assurance that no attack would come from China, as a war between our nations would benefit neither the winner nor the loser. We are also Allies with Korea, a protectorate of China, and we believe ties with you could only strengthen that alliance.
Yours with faith, Emperor Daimyo of Japan

((OCC: Just a note, I've changed my name from Wo Long to Guan Yu.))
"It has been my intention for awhile now to ally myself with the nations of Japan and Korea. My country is large and so my borders are weak. Your assitance in defense would be greatly appreciated, and in return, my massive army shall be as your right arm. You can count on the support of my men in future battles. I accept your proposal of an alliance.
Guan Yunchang"
((OCC: For those of you who don't know, the Chinese have what are called Style names or Courtesy names. Yunchang is Guan Yu's style name and so when being formal, he'd most likely be using Yunchang rather than his given name, Yu. But when speaking freely, it is just Guan Yu.))

I am glad to see you accept, and hope this shall be a profitable alliance.
