A scout force of 10,000 Cavalry is sent ahead, spreading pamphlets and propoganda to support the Saxon's. When the Saxon army reached villages and towns, instead of having food taken from them, they were given food and drink. While the scout force continued to spread propoganda to the people, the main army took their time, causing as little damage as could be helped following the army. Musicians and actors followed the main force and put on shows for the children and towns people.

Results: All this cost 5,000 Wealth, but kept the people happy and they surrendered. The northern-easternmost villages of Bavaria are therefore captured without resistance. Troops: Saxon: Light Infantry- 242,425 Heavy Infantry- 104,486 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 74,156 Cannon- 266 Bavarian: Light Infantry- 273,684 Heavy Infantry- 92,288 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 40,132 Cannon- 83 Objective Two: Attack the town of Bamberg and draw the Bavarians to a place where you control the high ground. Be careful and be sound, as the Bavarian generals are no idiots.

30,000 Cavalry and 40 Cannon rush to Bamberg. They burn the area directly about it, causing enough disturbance to draw anyones attention. They engage some small parties of militia and light infantry easily over powering them with few casualties, once there was a sign of mobilization by the Bavarians, they began to fall back to the place near Bamberg where the Saxons lay in wait. The cavalry made sure they left a trail even a deaf dumb and blind boy could follow, all the army can do now is wait.

Reults: The Saxons were succesful in storming the town of Blamberg and drawing the nearest Bavarian army up to them. However, their actions were frowned upon by the people of Blamberg and sorrounding area, and a revolt may occur if you do not crush the enemy army quickly here. Troops: Saxon: Light Infantry- 242,425 Heavy Infantry- 104,486 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 74,156 Cannon- 266 Bavarian: Light Infantry- 273,684 Heavy Infantry- 92,288 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 40,132 Cannon- 83 Objective Three:Defeat the Small Bavarian Army in open battle. The Saxons stood upon the crest of the hill awaiting a Bavarian offensive move. The heavy infantry formed in the center, cannon being placed up and down the length of the line with the majority of them centered in the middle. 20,000 cavalry held the right flank along with half the light infantry. The same as the right flank was true for the left flank. 30,156 cavalry awaited behind the hill unobserved by the Bavarians who still assumed that they had been attacked by the full force of the Saxon cavalry. the cavalry in reserve would wait until the Bavarians had thrown in their full strength and ride down their flanks.

Results: The Bavarian Army came up, and their nubmers were as follows:
Light Infantry: 120,595 Heavy Infantry: 39,288 Cavalry (Light and Ranged): 9,132 Cannon: 43
The Bavarian Generals were no fools, and recognised immediately the Saxon advantage of higher terrain. Their army consisted of a bulk core of Light Infantry, of which reserves form the nearby lowlands formed half. These peasants were angered at the devastation of the countryside caused by scouts, and hope for revenge against the Saxons who caused it.
The Bavarian Generals position their troops diagonal of the right-flank of the Saxons. Unknown to the Bavarians, this positions them right in the wake of the Saxon ambush. However, it does have its tactical advantage.
The Bavarian Heavy Infantry, with their long-range rifles, come forward and shoot at the Cavalry on the Saxon right-flank. They fire three volleys before drawing back into their position. The saxon general states that by order, all men must remain stationary. This is when the Bavarians brought in their 43 Cannon...
The Cannon thundered, blasting cannon-balls into the Saxon Right Flank. The Right Flank suffered a loss of 18,000 Cavalrymen and 58,000 Light Infantarymen. The morale of the right flank was dwindling, and its men stood stiff with fear of musket shot or cannon ball, as they watched their comrades fall with deathly sounds.
Now, with the right flank the Saxon armys weakest point, the impetuous Light Infantry noiticed this and charged, against the command of their officers. Raging at the devastaion of their lands, they ran towards the enemy screaming. The Cavalry followed, attempting to save the Light Infantry from completely massacre. However, the effect was opposite. The Saxon Cavalry on the Right Flank withdrew to the Left flnak, and the Light Infantry switched place with the Heavy.
The Saxon Heavy Infantry shot down the Bavarian Light Infantry and Cavalry quickly. Some Cavalrymen reached them, but they were quickly annhilated. All in all, the whole of the Bavarian Cavalry and Light Infantry on the field were slaughtered, taking out only 5,000 Saxon Heavy Infantry.
The Bavarian Heavy Infantry withdrew, and were routed by the Saxon Cavalry held in reserve. The Bavarian Heavy Infantry were slaughtered, with the exception of those who were taken as prisoners, nubmering at 20,000 men. 5,000 Saxon Cavalrymen died on the routing of the Bavarian Heavy Infantry.
The Saxon Army captured the 43 Cannon. Troops: Saxon: Light Infantry- 204,425 Heavy Infantry- 99,486 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 71,156 Cannon- 309 Bavarian: Light Infantry- 153,089 Heavy Infantry- 57,000 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 31,000 Cannon- 40 Objective Four: The enemy morale is destroyed, your forces severely outnumber theirs. So far, you have taken very little land. Show the Bavarians you mean buissiness an take the city of Nuremburg, Bavaria's second largest city. Doign this, shall virtually secure North Bavaria.

The cavalry rode ahead to scout the area up to Nuremburg and erradicating any light opposition before the main army arrived. 3,000 light infantry had been left in Blamberg to rebuild the damaged landscape and to keep a small presence in the recently conquered area. The main force continued on, seekeing to reach Nuremburg and take the city easily and crush any resistance. A messanger was sent to the city urging them to surrender and lose no lives to the Saxons. Once the army had arrived, the cannon ready to bombard the city if their answer did not please the generals. The infantry stood by builing up earthworks around the artillery and fortifying their position before the almost innevitable battle. The cavalry by this point was in the rear protecting the rear and ready to aid the flanks if they so required. The Saxons were ready to take this city and were prepared to do it with as little or much damage as possible depending on what casualities they suffered. Even so, it was determined the civillians lives would not be taken puposefully.

I offer troops to Saxony to help them against Bavaria and to help them become victorious quickly. In return, I ask for 5000 livres and I guarantee that I will provide the best service possible, after all, the Capital of the mercenary world is in Geneva.

We thank you for your offer though mercenaries are not needed at the present time. We hope that this offer is open in the future and wish the best to the Swiss.

Results: Nuremburg was udnefended. The Bavarians of Nuremburg thought this war would be far off on the frontier, not on their door-step. Forcing a surrender was easy, but the outlying slums had to be sacked first.
Saxon artillery blasted its way through the poorly built houes of the slums, and caused panick in the area. After this the Saxon Infantry marched into the city's slums, and onto the cities interior, forcing a surrender from the mayor. Troops: Saxon: Light Infantry- 200,425 Heavy Infantry- 93,486 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 67,140 Cannon- 309 Bavarian: Light Infantry- 151,029 Heavy Infantry- 55,900 Cavalry (Light and Ranged)- 30,900 Cannon- 40 Objective Five: Take Regensburg further down the Danube, another major town. This will completely demoralise the common Bavarians will to fight.

4,000 Light infantry were stationed in Nuremburg. Fearing an attack on their move further south, scouts were dispatched asx the army moved slowly along to Regensburg. A messenger was sent before the army to demand the immediate surrender of the city and any military forces there. The Cavalry began to screen the movements of the main force as they drew closer to the city. It had been decided if there was any resistence it would be crushed swiftly with as much force as necessary to prove Saxon supremacy. Again, it was ordered civillian lives were not to be harmed.

Results: Nuremburg was captured, and little resistance was made, due to the fact nobody was suspecting an attack so soon.

Scouts are sent out as the army regroups in Regensburg, they report back the safest way to the capital and the army begins to move, the cavalry screening the way. 5,000 Light infantry are left to defend Regensburg. The army has the same orders as it has had for every town it has taken so far. Do not harm citizens, attack only when necessary. This is hoped to be the last attack before Bavaria can be truly called Saxon. Along the way, as little damage is made to keep the loyalty of the working classes.

All Bavarian soldiers will be offered enterance into the Saxon army and in that case will be trained to saxon army standards. If they choose to leave the military, they will not be harmed and nothing more will be said of it. As of now, all Bavarian citizens are given full citizenship and rights of Saxon citizens, reforms to Bavaria will come soon.
